Ferrari will give the name of their Formula 1 car in 2011 with the designation F150. Score 150 in back of the letter F is to commemorate 150 years of Italian unification.

The announcement about the new Ferrari car name was included on the official site Lo Scuderia. F150 car will be launched at Ferrari headquarters in Maranello on 28 January. "F150: that was the name of the new cars that will compete in the 2011 season and Ferrari will be introduced on Friday in Maranello," Ferrari said in a statement on his official website.

Last year, Ferrari F10 name the vehicle. This year, the F150 name was chosen because this year is the 150th anniversary of Italian unification that occurred in 1861.

"Ferrari is an expression of magnificence, talent and creativity of Italy. Everyone who works in Maranello have pride and responsibility of representing Italy throughout the world," said Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo.

"In that spirit, we chose to bring this car to a very important event for the whole of Italy," completed in Montezemolo.

Ferrari FF will replace the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. As carmagazine.co.uk reported, the Ferrari has leaked the images of Ferrari FF. FF stands for Ferrari Four, to designate that this new GT features both four seats and Ferrari’s first ever four-wheel drive system. It will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March, and ahead of the FF’s debut Ferrari has released the pictures.


Like the California it’s designed to be more usable than Ferraris of old, and more appealing to new customers that wouldn’t have otherwise considered a car from the Prancing Horse. The Ferrari FF features the Italian sports car company’s first ever four-wheel drive system. Few details have so far been released on the patented set-up – which is said to weigh 50% less than a conventional four-wheel drive system – but Ferrari claims it manages ‘continuous and intelligent predictive torque distribution to all four wheels’. The low weight also helps weight distribution, while the advantages of four driven wheels aids traction and acceleration – the Ferrari FF will hit 62mph in 3.7 seconds.

The four-wheel drive system, plus sophisticated electronics, a transaxle dual-clutch gearbox, and the whopping great big direct-injection 6.3-litre V12. The brand new 6262cc engine produces 651bhp at 8000rpm and 504lb ft at 6000rpm. Combine with the 1790kg (dry) weight and you get a power-to-weight ratio of 364bhp/tonne. The top speed is 209mph. It'll leave the 540bhp/434lb ft Scaglietti standing.

Ferrari has prepared several new models for the next three years plan. At least, there are six brand-new model will rotate its release. Phrased by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne and Chrysler, as quoted by worldcarfans.com.

Ferrari will introduce New 458 Spider, Enzo Special Series, and 4 other new models, said Marchionne. For the former, he leaked the 458 Spider that was launched first, followed all the variants that use the 612 Scaglietti V12 engine. In addition, the hybrid version will also be shown him.

Marchionne also said, for a special model of the new Enzo Series, will equal the project with the new 599 GTB Fiorano (aka F152). Both will enter the market in 2012 along with the model of the Ferrari California Facelift called "California M".

Ferrari and Maserati often make each model different. Maserati are also expected to announce two new models, including the GranTurismo, ahead of 2015.

Ferrari 612 was first introduced in 2004 and recorded as the most stable existence. As his successor, F151 is a combination of Ferrari 458 for front and the Fiorano 599 for rear.
